Recreational Waters

“Recreational Waters” is the phrase used by government and councils to group together the multitude of different types of water. It’s the location where people go to enjoy leisure activities and sports.

Sometimes the water is used for enjoyment, amusement or pleasure and other times just for therapeutic purposes. There are two types of Recreational Water:-

1. Man made (normally treated)
2. Natural (untreated)

Man made Recreational Waters:

• Spa (including hot tub/Jacuzzi/plunge pool etc.)
• Hydrotherapy pools
• Swimming pool waters (outdoor and indoor)
• Fountains

Natural Recreational Waters

• Saline (including bathing water beaches and salt water swimming pools)
• Fresh waters
  Bathing waters lakes
• Springs
