Ships/Boats

Ships have extensive and complex water systems for their drinking water and “grey” water services.

The pipework for these systems is normally fitted into a relatively confined space, making them difficult to inspect, repair and maintain.

The Port Authority is responsible for providing a safe drinking water supply to the ship which may be delivered via hoses, water boats or barges. Once onboard the ship’s officers assume responsibility.

Cruise ships will have enhanced water systems including swimming pools, spas plus thousands of showers. Cruise ships carry a much higher risk and require more frequent testing and disinfection routines.
