Legionella Filters

What are Legionella Filters?

They are filters which catch ALL bacteria, not just legionella. Originally the product was developed as a shower filter to prevent anyone breathing in legionella whilst showering.

Nowadays there are a whole range of products apart from showers, these include:

  • Tap filters – these fit onto the tap and are great for providing bacteria free drinking water.
  • In-line Filters – these are fitted on the supply pipe to drinks machines, drinking water units and ice machines so that no bacteria gets into the product.

Different businesses use these “Legionella” filters to prevent bacteria which cause them specific issues, the common ones being :-

  • pseudomonas aeruginosa
  • E.Coli
  • Stenotrophomonas
  • Mycobacterium tuberculosis
  • Leptospira
  • Clostridium difficile (C.diff)
  • Campylobacter
  • Klebsiella pneumoniae
